Netflix, being the first of its kind, has grabbed more viewers than any of other visual platforms which always intrigues viewers with its varied content, and we can all know what an impact it has made on the youth all over the world with a simple one-liner ‘Netflix and chill.’
While logging in to your Netflix account, if an error pops up saying “Your account is on hold because of a problem with your last payment” then it signifies Netflix has not received the payment.
How to Update Payment Method on Netflix ?
There are a number of various reasons behind it:

Let’s follow a few steps to update your payment method concerning the Netflix app on your phone:
- Go to the Netflix app and sign in with your Account.
- Click the icon on the top-left corner of your screen where it will give options namely
- App Settings
- Account
- Help
- Sign Out of Netflix
Click on the option which says Account.
Once you visit your Netflix Account, it will show you six icons:
- Change e-mail
- Change password
- Add phone number
- Update payment info
- Billing details
- Change plan
Tap on the Update payment info icon
In case you haven’t availed your Netflix account with any of the payment methods available, instead, click on the Add payment info.
It will give you three options:
- Credit or Debit Card
- Maestro
- PayPal
Tap on any of the options using which you would like to make your payment.
(In case the PayPal option is not viewed in the process, click on the ˅ button, next to the Credit or Debit Card option)
Then, it will ask you for some information appearing on your card, namely:
- Expiration Date (MM/YY)
- Security Code (CVV)
After filling all the information necessary for your payment method, a mandatory agreement paragraph will appear saying:
By checking the checkbox below, you agree to our Terms of Use, Privacy Statement, and that you are over 18. You may cancel at any time in your free trial and will not be charged. Netflix will automatically continue your membership at the end of your free trial and charge the membership fee (currently PHP460) to your payment method every month until you cancel.
- I agree. Click on the small box, which says I agree.
- And then tap on the Update Payment Method on the bottom of your screen.
The payment method of your Netflix account is updated.
Now, let’s learn how to update your Netflix account’s payment method on your Desktop:
- Firstly, visit the official Netflix site https://www.netflix.com using any search engine browser. You will need your e-mail address and password to sign in.
- Check out your first name, which would be appearing in Main Profile.
- Click on the Accountbutton on the top right corner of your screen.
And then there will be various options available on your screen:
- Change e-mail
- Change password
- Add phone number
- E-mail preferences
- Update payment info
- Billing details
- Change plan
- Add DVD plan
Tap on the option showing Update payment info
In case you haven’t availed your Netflix account with any of the payment methods available, rather click on the Add payment info.
It will give you three options:
- Credit or Debit Card
- Maestro
- PayPal
Tap on any of the options using which you would like to make your payment.
(In case the PayPal option is not viewed in the process, click on the ˅ button, next to the Credit or Debit Card option)
- Check the required information needed for your method of payment.
- And then, fill in all the marked fields or follow the onscreen prompts to empower Netflix to utilize your payment method.
- Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of your screen and tap the icon showing Update Payment Method.
Your payment method has been renewed.
